Read with friends! The University Book Club has worked closely with the University Libraries, to build a collection of book club and buddy reading kits available for anyone at UMN to check out. The kits are available to check out TODAY at Wilson Library on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Blind Date With a Book is back in February 2026
Visit participating University of Minnesota libraries -including Walter, Wilson, Health Sciences, and Magrath starting February 10 and find the display of books. Read the descriptions, and select a book wrapped up just for you. Check the book out with your U Card, take it home, unwrap and fall in love.
Try book matchmaking
Not a fan of blind dates? Want a more customized match? Our online book matchmakers will be on duty with customized book recommendations, too. Fill out the short form about your reading life and our expert book matchmakers will email you a list of three books from the University of Minnesota libraries that match what you are looking for!
Health Sciences Library Popular Reading Collection
NEW The Health Sciences Library popular reading collection is located on the 5th floor of PWB near the service desk. The collection consists of fiction, non-fiction, and best sellers that have a connection to the health sciences. Titles can be checked out for one month with renewal options, and can be requested through Get It.
Book Access
Ways to access our current book selection:
Buy the book at a 20% discount from the UMN Bookstore (either in-person or online) Note: The discount is automatically applied when you check out.
Borrow a physical copy from UMN Libraries or using the Interlibrary Loan service
Borrow via the UMN Libraries Libby, the book club has our own collection!
Public Libraries:
Hennepin County Library: Library cards are free and Arvonne Fraser Library is located just a few blocks from campus, in Dinkytown
Ramsey County Library: Library cards are free and the Roseville Library is about a 10 minute drive from the St. Paul campus
